The goal of the law school is to train legal professionals who will assume decisive leadership positions as academics, legislators, judges, policymakers, public officials, civil society activists, and legal advisors in the private sector while upholding the highest standards of professional ethics. When it comes to internationalisation, where the nature and structure of law and practise are changing dramatically, legal education should also prepare professionals who are able to handle its new problems. Legal education must also be socially conscious and raise students’ awareness of social justice issues. To ensure that the common people have access to justice and that legal concepts and legal knowledge protect the interests of the general public, new and creative solutions are required.
In addition to having highly skilled and experienced faculty, the school of law also provides great infrastructure, research-friendly library spaces, an electronic library, case law digitalization, and access to the most recent publications and legal databases. The UG and PG programmes’ adopted teaching strategies encourage cross-disciplinary research and a practical understanding of problems. Lectures, discussions, case studies, mock trials, and project work are some of the educational strategies used. Attempts are also being made to familiarise students with the realities of a courtroom. Other course requirements include projects and assignments, which call for both a literature review and a field study. The school provides multidisciplinary undergraduate BA.LL.B , LL.B , LL.M, and Ph.D. programmes that have been authorised by the Bar Council of India, as well as a Doctor of Laws programme in accordance with a notification from the Chhattisgarh government.
